I consider the above quoted statement to be one of the most true statements that I have ever encountered. For anyone who is sincerely in search of the Truth in a world of lies, this statement is like a close companion and mentor who often reminds them that careful continuous diligent discernment is required to successfully navigate the reality of their existence.
In my search for Truth, I have discovered the following:
If you are going to search for Truth, you must first realize that you cannot use "all that you know" as a foundation upon which to conduct your search.
You must first understand that some of what you have "learned" up until now could contain error which would "taint" the results of your search for Truth.
If you are going to search for Truth, you must first "test" what you already "know" to verify that what you have been taught is in fact what you believe it to be.
All Truth is plainly "in front of your face, right under your nose"; however, you can be blinded so that you cannot see it or distracted so that you do not look at it.
The devil cannot hide the Truth. Therefore, he must use subtle deception to "fool you" into not seeing that which is right in front of you. And, he is very good at it.
The devil, also called Lucifer and Satan, is the most insidious and enigmatic master of deception. The Bible says that he "deceiveth the whole world":
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
The devil does not want you to know the Truth concerning God, him (Satan), man (humanity), the Earth, or the world system that he has constructed with the intent to ensnare the whole world. With subtle craftiness, he strives to do anything and everything he can to try to hide any and all Truth from you.
